Configure Zip Code Collection During Client Sign-Up

Overview

In Hapana Core, businesses can collect Zip Code information during client sign-up either independently or as part of the full address. This setup allows businesses to gather important location data without requiring a full address, supporting more targeted reporting, marketing, and geographic analysis.

You can configure whether the Zip Code is optional or mandatory, providing full flexibility across Core, branded apps, and embedded sign-up forms.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to Account Settings > Configuration > Client Sign-Up Fields
  • Understanding of client data requirements for your business

Tip: Capturing Zip Codes without requiring full addresses is especially helpful for promotions, regional offers, and demographic insights.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log in to Core

Access core.hapana.com and sign in using your administrator credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to Client Sign-Up Field Settings

  • Click on your profile initials in the top-right corner.

  • Select Account Settings.

  • Go to Configuration.

  • Click on Client Sign-Up Fields.

Step 3: Enable Zip Code Collection

  • Locate the Zip Code toggle.

  • Choose one of the following configurations:
    • Toggle ON Zip Code to collect it separately.
    • Set Zip Code to Required if you want clients to be forced to enter it during sign-up.

Step 4: Configure Address Field (Optional)

  • Decide whether to also enable the Full Address field.
  • Scenarios:
    • Zip Code Only: Enable Zip Code, disable Address.
    • Address Only: Enable Address, disable Zip Code (Zip Code remains embedded within the Address form).
    • Both Enabled: Clients complete a full address and Zip Code together, with Zip Code pulled from the address input.

Tip: If you enable both, clients will not see a second separate Zip Code input — it will be unified within the Address section.

Step 5: Save Settings

After setting your desired options, scroll down and click Save to apply the changes.

Expected Outcome

Depending on your setup, clients will see either:

  • A standalone Zip Code field
  • A full address field (with Zip Code included)
  • Or both fields managed together seamlessly

These configurations will be reflected consistently across the Core system, branded apps, and embedded web forms.

FAQs

Q: What happens if both Zip Code and Address are enabled?

The Zip Code will appear as part of the Address field, avoiding duplicate entry.

Q: Can I make the Zip Code optional?

Yes. If you leave the Zip Code toggle enabled but not marked as Required, clients can skip it during sign-up.

Q: Does this update apply to embedded widgets and kiosks?

Yes. All client sign-up interfaces are updated to follow your chosen configuration.
