Overview
This guide explains how members can now book overlapping sessions for different services directly through the app or embed widgets — as long as the Schedule Templates allow it. Business Owners have full control over which services permit overlapping, reducing front desk workload and offering members more flexible booking options.
Prerequisites
• Access to Core to update Schedule Templates
• Members booking through the updated App or Embed interface
• Booking System API integrated and updated
Step-by-Step Instructions
For Gym Staff | Enable overlapping sessions in Core
Step 1: Navigate to Schedule Templates
- Log into Core.
- Go to Schedule > Schedule Settings > Schedule Templates.
Step 2: Edit the desired schedule template
- Click the Pencil Icon alongside the template you wish to allow overlapping sessions.
- Find the toggle labeled Allow Overlapping Sessions.
- Switch it to Yes.
Tip: You must enable this setting for each service you want to allow overlapping.
Step 3: Save your changes
1. Click Update Template or Save and update all future sessions after enabling overlapping.
2. Repeat for any other service templates where overlapping should be permitted.
For Members | Book overlapping sessions in the App or Embed
Step 1: Open the app or booking portal
• Log into your gym’s app or online booking portal.
Step 2: Select your services
• Choose your desired time slots for multiple services (e.g., Pool and Compression).
Step 3: Complete your booking
• If overlapping is allowed for both selected services, your bookings will succeed — even if the sessions overlap partially.
Tip: If overlapping isn’t enabled on one of the templates, the booking will be blocked.
Behavior examples
Example 1:
• Template A (No Overlap)
• Template B (Overlap Allowed)
• Template C (Overlap Allowed)
• Booking A + C → ❌ Fails (Template A doesn’t allow overlapping)
• Booking B + C → ✅ Works (both templates allow overlapping)
Expected outcome
Members can book multiple, overlapping services in a single visit without contacting staff. Gym managers control which services permit overlapping for better customization and fewer manual overrides.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: What if one template allows overlap but the other doesn’t?
A: The booking will be blocked. Both templates must have Allow Overlapping Sessions enabled.
Q: Is overlapping enabled by default?
A: No. The default setting is No. Managers must manually enable overlapping for each service.
