Overview
This guide shows you how to hide certain email content when it’s viewed on mobile. In Grow, you can choose to show or hide blocks (like images, buttons, or text) depending on the device your client is using. This is super helpful if you're creating longer emails or content that looks better on desktop, and want to simplify the layout for mobile users.
Fitness businesses can use this to keep mobile emails clean, scannable, and more likely to convert — especially for time-sensitive promos or quick updates.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Access to Grow
- An existing email in a Campaign or Automation
- Used the Email Builder with drag-and-drop elements
Step-by-step instructions
1. Open your email in the builder
-
From the Grow dashboard, go to Marketing.
-
Select Emails and then either Campaigns or Templates and click into the email you want to edit.
2. Select the element you want to hide on mobile
- In the email builder, hover over the section, row, or element (like a button or image) you want to hide.
- A popup will appear with a an icon bar
3. Adjust the visibility settings
-
In this icon bar there are two visibility icons:
- Hide on Desktop visualised by a monitor icon
- Hide on Mobile visualised by a mobile phone icon
-
Select the mobile icon, it will now be greyed out and not visible on the mobile view
-
Select the Mobile preview icon
-
click save
Tip: Be careful hiding key info. Only use this when the element doesn’t need to appear in your mobile version.
Expected outcome
After saving, any element you marked as “Hide on Mobile” will no longer appear when the email is opened on a phone or mobile device. Your content will feel more focused and easier to scroll on smaller screens.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: Can I preview what it looks like on mobile before sending?
A: Yes! Use the Preview option at the top of the email builder and toggle between desktop and mobile views.
Q: Will this affect the email’s performance?
A: Hiding elements won’t hurt performance — it often improves click-through rates by making your emails easier to read on mobile.
Q: Can I hide elements only on desktop instead?
A: Absolutely! Select the desktop monitor icon instead of the mobile icon.
