Adding tags to multiple contacts at once

Overview

Need to quickly label a group of leads or clients? Tags help you sort, search, and segment contacts in GROW — and you don’t have to do it one by one.

This guide shows you how to bulk-tag contacts. Whether you’re organizing challenge participants, tagging new leads, or cleaning up your CRM, this process will save time and keep things tidy.


Prerequisites

Before you begin:

  • Make sure you have access to the Contacts section in GROW
  • Know which contacts you want to tag
  • Have the tag(s) already created (or be ready to create a new one during the process)

Step 1: Open your contact list

  1. From the GROW dashboard, click Contacts in the left-hand menu.

  2. You’ll land on the full contact list by default.

Tip: If you're only tagging a specific group (like leads from a campaign), apply filters first or select the appropriate Smart List


Step 2: Select your contacts

  1. Click the checkbox next to Name in the top-left corner to select all contacts on the current page or simply select the contacts you would like to add the tag to..

  2. If you want to tag more than one page of contacts, click the banner that appears to Select all [X] records.

Tip: GROW loads 20 contacts per page — don’t forget to click “Select all” if your list is longer.


Step 3: Start the bulk action

  1. With your contacts selected, click the Add Tag icon (tag with a + beside it) above the contacts


Step 4: Choose or create your tag

  1. In the popup, choose the tag(s) you want to apply and the bulk action name for this tag add. The action name has no relevance in terms of functionality, just allows for you to identify the bulk action you implemented in the future.

    • You can select from existing tags or type in a new one and hit Enter to create it.

  2. Click Apply to confirm.

Tip: Tags can be anything — “Trial Lead”, “Challenge Interest”, “Business /Sporting Club Name”. Keep them short and clear so your team can easily filter or trigger automations later.


Expected outcome

All selected contacts will now show the new tag(s) in their profile. These tags can now be used for Smart Lists, automation triggers, or filtering your database.


Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: Will this remove any existing tags from the contacts?

A: No — bulk-adding a tag will add to existing tags, not overwrite them.

Q: Can I remove a tag from multiple contacts too?

A: Yes! Follow the same steps, but choose Remove Tag in the bulk action menu.

Q: Are tags visible to all team members?

A: Yes. Any tags added will be visible and usable across the entire location.
