Overview
The Book a Buddy feature lets clients pair up so one can book a class for both of them. It’s a great option for friends or family who attend sessions together and want a simple, shared booking process.
You can enable this feature in CORE and manage buddy relationships manually from the client profile, or allow members to set it up themselves through the branded app.

Prerequisites
Before you begin:
- You must have admin access to your Account Settings
- Clients must have an active account with a valid pack or membership
- Book a Buddy must be enabled in your configuration
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Enable Book a Buddy in CORE
- Click your Location Name in the top nav
- Go to Account Settings > Configurations
- Scroll to the Business Profile section
- Toggle Enable Book a Buddy to Yes
- Click Save
✅ Once enabled, the feature will be visible in the app and accessible from client profiles in CORE.
Step 2: Manually link clients as buddies in CORE
- Go to the Clients section
- Open the profile of the client who wants to add a buddy
- Click the Client Information tab
- Scroll to the Book a Buddy section
- Click the plus (+) icon
- Search for the other client using:
- Phone number
- Full name
- Select the correct client and click Save
Note: Only clients with an active pack or membership can be linked.
Step 3: How it works in the app
Once Book a Buddy is enabled and clients are linked:
- Clients log into the branded app
- From the More tab, they can view or remove buddies
- To link a new buddy, clients:
- Open Branded app
- Tap Explore, Timetable (whatever you have this button on the navigation bar described as)
- Choose a class and click Book
- Tap the Book a Buddy icon
- Select the buddy you would like to book for and click Book.
If you need to link a new buddy proceed through steps 1 - 4 and then select the “Book for a new account feature, choose the method you want to send the invite and then send the invite to your buddy.
Once accepted, clients can book for themselves and their buddy — as long as both have credits or valid memberships.
Expected outcome
With Book a Buddy enabled, clients can easily pair up and book classes for each other via the app. Admins can also set this up manually through CORE to speed up onboarding for families and groups.

Q: Can clients use their own credits to book for a buddy?
A: No — each client must have their own active pack or membership. The booker uses the buddy's credits when making the booking.
Q: Can clients manage Book a Buddy in the app?
A: Yes — they can add or remove buddies and accept connection requests directly in the branded app.
Q: Can we turn this feature off for our location?
A: Yes — go to Configurations and toggle Enable Book a Buddy to No.
