How to Edit the Email Triggers and SMS and Push Notifications

Overview

Want to customize the messages your clients receive? You can edit automated email triggers, view available SMS and push notifications, and even switch triggers on or off — all from your configuration settings.

This is especially helpful for personalizing your communication, adding marketing flair with HTML designs, or simply managing what messages go out and when.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

  • You must have admin access to Account Settings
  • Prepare any HTML email templates or marketing images if needed
  • Know which email triggers you'd like to review or edit

Step-by-step instructions


Step 1: Go to your configuration settings

  1. Click your Location Name at the top of the dashboard
  2. Go to Account Settings > Configurations
  3. Scroll down to Customized Emails Triggered by Hapana
  4. Click Edit


Step 2: View available communication types

  1. You’ll now see a list of email triggers
  2. For each trigger, you’ll see columns for:
    • Email
    • SMS
    • Push
  3. Most triggers have an email option. Some include SMS or push notifications.

Step 3: Edit the email content

  1. Click the email icon next to a trigger (e.g. “First Visit Anniversary”)
  2. This opens the editable email window
  3. You can:
    • Write a plain text email
    • Use placeholders to pull client-specific info (e.g. name)
    • Add your business logo at the bottom
    • Or switch to HTML mode to add banners, images, and GIFs

Tip: Work with your marketing team to create custom HTML templates for a branded experience.


Step 4: Understand editing limits for SMS and push

  • While you can view SMS and push notification content, you cannot edit them directly
  • Only email content is editable within this section

Note: For SMS or push customization requests, contact the Hapana support team.


Step 5: Turn email triggers on or off

  1. Use the toggle next to each trigger name
  2. Green = active
  3. Red = off

Tip: Use this to control exactly which emails are being sent out without deleting your customizations.


Expected outcome

After completing these steps, your email triggers will be updated to reflect your brand, tone, and design. You’ll also have clear control over which messages are active and being sent to your clients.


FAQs

Q: Can I preview how the email will look before sending?

A: Not directly in the settings, but you can test it by temporarily assigning the trigger to a test client.

Q: Can I upload images or logos into plain text emails?

A: Not in plain text mode — switch to HTML email to add banners, logos, and styled visuals.

Q: Can I change the content of SMS or push messages?

A: Not in this section. Contact [email protected] if you need those customized.
