Overview
Session types help categorize your classes in CORE. They’re essential for linking classes to the correct packs or memberships. For example, you might have session types for “Boxing,” “Strength,” “Privates,” or even “All Classes” — depending on how your memberships are structured.
This guide shows you how to create session types, assign them to classes, and control how they relate to client access.

Prerequisites
Before you begin:
- You must have access to Schedule Settings
- Decide how your classes and memberships should be grouped (e.g. by type or access level)
- If you manage multiple locations, confirm whether clients should book across locations
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Access session type settings
- Click Schedule in the top navigation
- Click the cog icon ⚙️
- Select Schedule Templates
Step 2: Open session type editor
You can do this two ways:
- Edit an existing template by clicking the pencil icon
- Or click the + icon to create a new template and set session types from there
- In the template view, click the pencil icon ✏️ next to Session Type
- Click Add More
Step 3: Create new session types
- Enter the name of the session type (e.g. Boxing, Strength, Privates)
- Repeat this for all class categories you offer
- Assign a color to each session type (optional — helps visually differentiate them)
- Toggle Multi-Location Access ON if this session type should be bookable across different studio locations
✅ Tip: If clients can access all classes with one pack or membership, create a single session type called Classes and assign it to all sessions.
Step 4: Apply session types to classes
- When creating or editing a Schedule Template, assign the relevant Session Type from your list
- This determines what membership or pack can be used to book that class
Expected Outcome
Once configured, session types allow you to control class access based on client memberships, enable visual grouping in your schedule, and simplify pack setup. Clients will only be able to book classes linked to their membership’s assigned session types.
FAQs
Q: Can one session type be used for multiple classes?
A: Yes — and that’s recommended. For example, assign the Classes session type to all general group sessions.
Q: What happens if a class has no session type?
A: It may not be accessible for booking if the client’s pack doesn’t include “all” access or a matching session type.
Q: Can I change the session type color later?
A: Yes — you can update the color at any time for visual clarity in your schedule.
