Prerequisites
Before you begin:
- Know whether you want to allow or prevent duplicate session types
- Understand which products (memberships or packages) use the same session types
- Confirm whether the member already has an active product
Step-by-step explanation
Step 1: Understand what the settings do
There are two key toggles in your system:
- Allow membership sales with duplicate credits or session types
- Allow package sales with duplicate credits or session types
These settings give you control over whether members can purchase another product (membership or package) that includes the same session type they already have access to.
- Click your profile in top right corner of screen > Select Account Settings from dropdown
- Go to Configuration
- Scroll down to Business Profile
- Click ‘Edit’ to update
- Find options Allow membership sales with duplicate credits or session types & Allow package sales with duplicate credits or session types
Step 2: What happens when you set it to No
- If set to No, a member cannot purchase a second product with the same session type as one they already have active
- This only applies to active products — expired packages or memberships won’t block the new purchase
Tip: A membership with “Classes” won’t block a package with “Classes” — and vice versa. These rules apply within product types only.
Step 3: What happens when you set it to Yes
- If set to Yes, members can purchase multiple memberships or packages that include the same session types or credits
- Use this option if your members often stack products (e.g. 10-pack + unlimited membership)
Expected outcome
You’ll have full control over how your clients stack their credits — either preventing duplicates for clarity, or allowing overlap for flexibility.
