This guide will outline how to use the Avigilon Alta Door Access Integration for your Client Check-In Automation with Hapana. When a client unlocks a Avigilon Alta (Openpath) controlled door using their mobile app, Hapana will automatically register their check-in - no front desk required.
This means smoother arrivals, fewer missed check-ins, and accurate attendance tracking across locations.
Prerequisites
- Ensure the Integration is set up. Contact the Hapana team directly to express interest in setting up the Avigilon Alta Integration.
- The client must be registered in Avigilon Alta (Openpath).
- Members must ensure Mobile settings are enabled as outlined in Mobile section below.
How It Works
- Client unlocks the door using their mobile device via Avigilon Alta’s Openpath system.
- Hapana instantly checks the client’s membership or bookings.
- If eligible, their check-in is recorded automatically - either for a class (session check-in) or general facility access.
Use It To:
- Automate client attendance tracking and enhance access management.
- Improve accuracy in your reporting and client activity records.
- Save staff time and reduce check-in queues.
What You Need to Do
There’s no setup required on your part. Once enabled for your location, the integration works automatically for:
- Clients with active memberships or packages
- Clients with an upcoming booking
If neither condition is met, access will be removed automatically until eligibility is restored.
Mobile Permissions for Members
To utilise the Client Check In using Avigilon Alta (Openpath), members must ensure that the following settings have been enabled on their mobile device.

Please note: Motion & Fitness Activity and Bluetooth permissions must be given and Location permission must be set to 'Always' to unlock the door without opening the app.

Expected Outcome
Clients who unlock doors using Avigilon Alta will be automatically checked in to Hapana Core. Their attendance will appear in reporting and grant access to services like classes and gym areas.

Q: Does this replace manual check-ins?
A: Manual check-in is still available, but this automation reduces the need for it.
Q: What if a client has no active membership but has a class booked?
A: They’ll still be checked in automatically if they have a valid upcoming booking.
Q: How often does the access sync happen?
A: User access is updated 1–2 times daily to ensure membership and booking status are current.
