Member Movement Report

Overview

The Member Movement Report shows all client membership changes within a selected date range (defaulting to the last 7 days). This includes new memberships, renewals, cancellations, suspensions, and inactive transitions.

 

By reviewing this report, you can understand membership dynamics, track client lifecycle patterns, and identify opportunities for retention or re-engagement. It’s a great way to keep a pulse on overall membership health.


Access the Member Movement Report

1. Navigate to Reports

  1. Log in to Core 
  2. Click Reports from the Navigation bar 

  3. Within the Clients & Attendance Report Category, select Member Movement report


2. Apply Date Filters

  1. Use the Show reports between fields to set your date range.

  2. Click Apply Dates Filter.


3. Use Membership or Client Filters

  1. From the dropdown, select filters such as:

    • Movement Type (New, Renewal, Inactive, Cancelled, Suspension Start/End)

    • Membership Type (Membership, Session Package)

    • Previous Member (Yes/No)

    • Client filters like First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Gender, Age, or Location

  2. Enter your filter value.

  3. Apply with the green checkmark or clear with the orange refresh icon.


4. Review Report Columns

The report displays:

  • Full Name - Client’s complete name.

  • Phone - Client’s phone number.

  • Membership Type - Membership or session package.

  • Movement Type - Type of change (New, Renewal, Inactive, etc.).

  • Recent Package Name - Latest package purchased.

  • Recent Package Amount - Amount paid for the recent package.

  • Movement Date - Date of the membership change.

  • Previous Member - Whether they were a member before.

  • Cancellation Reason - If applicable.

Optional fields you can add:

  • First Name / Last Name

  • Email

  • Gender, Birth Month, Age

  • Client Status

  • Join Date


5. Save, Edit, or Export the Report

  • Click Save Report to save your filters and layout.

  • Use Edit Report Settings to customize columns.

  • Select the Download button to export your data.


Expected Outcome

After running this report, you’ll:

  • Get a clear view of all membership changes during your chosen timeframe.

  • Spot retention opportunities and identify at-risk clients.

  • Monitor growth, cancellations, and suspensions to improve business planning.


FAQ

Q: Can I see why a membership was cancelled?
A: Yes. The Cancellation Reason column shows the details when available.

Q: Does this report include both memberships and session packages?
A: Yes. You can filter by Membership Type to view one or both.

Q: Can I export this report for my records?
A: Yes. Click the download button in the top right.
